Public Service To Pay Fines? It's Happening Now

WPMI reports Mobile Municipal Court has a program that allows you to choose community service to pay a portion or all of your fines. The going rate is $10 an hour. Some people think this is a great idea as it will help keep the community clean.

If you choose community service house you will work with the new litter patrol. The crews work seven days a week at parks and waterways across the city. Joseph Alkire is paying off a $177 and would much rather help keep the city clean, instead of paying in cash.

“I’d much rather community service,” he said, “because this is ridiculous. I have another ticket to pay too”.

What do you think? Is this a good option to pay off fines? Let us know in the comments below!
