Donate To Help Hurricane Ian Recovery

We know what it's like to live through a major hurricane here on the Gulf Coast, so a lot of us are wanting to help those impacted by Ian.

Here are a couple of ways you can help, either online or as easy as sending a text --

The Florida Disaster Fund was established to provide financial assistance to communities recovering from disasters such as hurricanes. Contribute at Volunteer Florida dot org or text DISASTER to 20222.

For those who want to volunteer, there is an official portal at VolunteerFlorida.org.

In addition, the American Red Cross is also open to donations as its teams are already on their way to assist in Florida. Donate at Red Cross dot org, or make a $10 donation by texting REDCROSS to 90999.

The National Hurricane Center said the eye of the "extremely dangerous" hurricane made landfall just after 3:00 pm (1900 GMT) on the barrier island of Cayo Costa, west of the city of Fort Myers.
