UPDATE: Tropical Storm Cindy Strikes The Coast

UPDATE (JUNE 22, 2017 - 2PM): Our listening area is still under a flash flood and tornado watch. Birmingham had a tornado blow through in west Jefferson County. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

UPDATE (JUNE 21, 2017 - 8:20PM): We've seen lots of rainfall, thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings. We've also seen a water spout at Ft. Morgan. We are in a tornado watch until 3AM for all of coastal Alabama and Northwest Florida. Stay safe and be weather aware!

UPDATE (JUNE 21, 2017 - 3:30PM): Even though we don't have a tropical storm watch anymore, we're still watching for tornados and flooding.

High winds will continue across the Gulf Coast with tropical storm force wind gusts of more than 39 miles per hour over the coastal waters and along the immediate coastline.

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect until Friday morning. Two to four feet of water above normally dry land in Mobile and Baldwin Counties can be expected, especially around hide tides tonight and Thursday night.

UPDATE (JUNE 21, 2017 - 11:28AM): A tropical storm warning has been dropped for the Mobile/Baldwin county areas. Stay alert for bad weather still.

UPDATE (June 21, 2017 - 10AM): Mobile, Baldwin, Santa Rosa, Escambia, Okaloosa, George and Stone counties are in a new Tornado watch until 7PM CST. Click here for the full announcement.

UPDATE (June 21, 2017 - 8AM): Tropical Storm Cindy is still projected to hit the Texas/Louisiana state border line. We should expect to see lots of road closures, rain and some flooding.

MCPSS summer schools are closed today (6/21/17).

We now have an official Tropical Storm named Cindy. The path projection remains the same, with Mobile and Pensacola west of the tropical storm. It's important to remember we will still see a lot of rainfall and inland flooding.

We are expecting our area to have at least 4" to 8" of rain, some isolated areas as much as 10". Expect to see rainfall throughout Thursday (June 22, 2017).

Now is the time to prepare if you are in low lying areas.
