Student Arrests Made With THC Laced Gummy Bears


UPDATE (11/6/2017): NBC 15 reports that investigators have discovered it was not meth laced gummy bears, but THC laced bears. THC is the  psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. 

The origin of the THC gummy bears is yet to be determined. We'll keep you updated as the story develops


NBC 15 interviewed Sgt. Joe Mahoney with the Mobile County Sheriff's office. He updates that their narcotics investigators have detected methamphetamine in gummy bears taken by 8 students at Alma Bryant.

3 students have been taken into custody for distributing the candy at the school. They have been booked into the Strickland Youth center.

Sgt. Mahoney believes the students who ingested the gummy bears are not in critical condition. The investigation is continuing to see if the students knew what they were getting into and who manufactured the gummy bears.
