Local Salvation Army looking for holiday help. Ways you can give back...

Seeking local help for the holidays.

During this time of year The Salvation Army receives tremendous support from the community. As the holidays are approaching, we strongly need volunteers, Thanksgiving turkeys, and more. We seek volunteers to ring bells starting November 15th and ending on Christmas Eve. To coordinate your bell ringing experience, call Zach Rhodes at 228-374-9105 or sign up online at www.registertoring.com.

Need a job? Apply to be a paid bell ringer! Call Human Resources, Wanda Lowe at 228-374-9099.

Over the past few years, The Salvation Army received an abundant amount of turkeys with the fixings and were able to send holiday food boxes home for families in need. Food box recipients are always very surprised and appreciative. We ask the community to help achieve this Thanksgiving miracle, again, for 2019.  Stacy Crandle, Social Services Coordinator explained that “we have food for side dishes. . . we just need turkeys or hams to surprise families with a Thanksgiving meal box”.

Donations accepted at 2019 22nd St. Gulfport, 575 Division St. Biloxi, and at 3217 Nathan Hale Ave., Pascagoula, during normal operating hours.

About The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar The Salvation Army spends is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
