UPDATE:
New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle injury during the second quarter of his team's game against the NFC East Division rival Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday (October 26), the team announced on its social media accounts.
"INJURY UPDATE: RB Cam Skattebo has been ruled out with an ankle injury," the Giants wrote on their X account.
Skattebo was carted off the field after being taken down on an incomplete crossing route and grabbed his right leg while on the ground. The rookie was shown with his right leg wrapped and placed in a boot while surrounded by his teammates before being carted off the field.
Skattebo recorded 12 yards on three rushing attempts and one reception for an 18-yard touchdown in the first quarter prior to his injury. The former Arizona State standout entered Sunday's game with 398 yards and five touchdowns on 98 rushing attempts, as well as 23 receptions for 189 yards and one touchdown, having seen an expanded role in recent weeks, coinciding with fellow rookie Jaxson Dart taking over as the Giants' starting quarterback.
Skattebo was selected by the Giants at No. 105 overall in the fourth-round of the 2025 NFL Draft in April. The California native was a First-team All-American, and First-team All-Big 12 selection during the 2024 college football season, which saw the Sun Devils make their first College Football Playoff appearance as the No. 4 seed under the new format.
