A Florida elementary school principal and a teacher face charges after hosting a house party with over 100 minors, where alcohol was present. The incident occurred at the home of Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, the former principal of Roosevelt Elementary School, in Cocoa Beach on January 19. Police arrived to find a chaotic scene with minors drinking and one teenager so intoxicated that they required medical treatment from Brevard County Fire Rescue.

Body camera footage from the police shows Karly Anderson, a teacher at the same school, slurring her words and appearing intoxicated as she spoke to officers. Anderson denied being drunk, though officers stated they could smell alcohol on her. Both educators were suspended from their positions following the incident.

Hill-Brodigan is charged with child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and hosting an open house party. Anderson faces charges of disorderly conduct and disorderly intoxication. Both women are currently free on bond.

The state attorney’s office emphasized the importance of laws against open house parties and underage drinking to protect youth and communities. Hill-Brodigan's attorney, Kepler Funk, stated that they are investigating the matter. Anderson's attorney claims she was not involved in the party and only returned home to find students leaving.
