Alabama Mask Mandate Stays For 5 More Weeks

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is keeping the statewide mask mandate in place until April 9th.

Ivey says the bottom line is that the mask mandate has helped and the state is making progress... but she wants to keep things in place until after Easter.

That being said, Ivey says she will NOT renew it after that.

The latest health order includes some lifting of restrictions:

Seating restrictions are being lifted in restaurants

Senior citizens centers will be allowed to hold outdoor programs.

Summer camps will be allowed to resume operations this year.

Raising number of caregivers/visitors to 2 for hospitals and nursing homes.
