Governor Bryant is visiting our Coast today.

At the Stennis Space Center, they've been testing the rocket engines that'll take Americans back to the moon, and eventually to Mars. And today, Governor Bryant will be at the NASA facility in Hancock County to announce what's being called a new economic development initiative and space directive. He'll be joined by the head of the Mississippi National Guard, Adjutant General Durr Boyles.

In Hattiesburg last night, some of Carson Hall's former teachers and classmates joined members of his family in remembering the recent high school graduate who drowned over the weekend on the Mississippi coast. They held a vigil and balloon release at the Sacred Heart Catholic School football field. The 17-year-old jumped off a boat near Ship Island Saturday and never resurfaced. The initial search by the Coast Guard and the Department of Marine Resources was unsuccessful but the boy's body was recovered Sunday morning. His death has been ruled an accidental drowning.

Gas prices in Mississippi have jumped an average of eight and a half cents a gallon since last week- but they're still the lowest in the nation. Triple A says the state has enjoyed that distinction for five weeks in a row now. The auto club says Mississippi's average price at the pumps - a little more than two-32- is 39 cents below the national average.

Rankin County investigators say they got a lot of help from the public in tracking down two men accused of robbing a Dollar General store near the Barnett Reservoir Sunday. One of the suspects was caught after a witness saw him running out of some woods near the store. The other was captured after he was seen acting suspiciously on a nearby walking trail. And another witness led deputies to a house where they found a knife and a mask used in the robbery.

Two women have been injured in a home invasion robbery attempt in Jackson last night. Police say three men wearing masks demanded money, shot one of the women and assaulted the other one. But both are expected to recover. They're hospitalized in stable condition. And police are still looking for those men.

At least six inmates at the Hinds County detention center are recovering from injuries after a series of fights. Three of the inmates were hospitalized after the trouble broke out Friday and Saturday at the jail in Raymond. There've been no reports of any fights on Sunday.

A chance tomorrow for young baseball players to get the attention of pro scouts. The Atlanta Braves are holding their annual tryout camp at Trustmark Park in Pearl. Players between the ages of 16 and 24 are welcome. There's no charge to try out.
