UPDATE: Suspect Arrested In Naomi Jones Case

UPDATE: Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan named 38-year-old Robert Letroy Howard of Brewton, has been charged in connection with Naomi’s murder. He was arrested Thursday morning at 4:30AM. 

Officials say video surveillance shows him and his car in the same area as Naomi the day she was was last seen. He claims he was in Florida on the same day. 

Police believe Howard acted alone in the murder of Naomi Jones. He is being held on a $600,000 bond in Escambia County jail.

WKRG reports new information has been shared regarding the death of 12 year old, Pensacola native Naomi Jones. Many social media apps have been linked to the case, including a chat app called Marco Polo. Marco Polo acts like a virtual walkie talkie. The investigation has reported the exchanges made with these apps were sexual in nature, and may have contributed to the death and disappearance of Naomi Jones.

The investigation has issued 35 search warrants and have named two people of interest, but unfortunately they cannot name any suspects yet. 350 tips have been offered to help investigate this case. 

We hope they will bring the death of Naomi to justice very soon.
